Assembly & instructions for use

Flexible adapter hose

Option A or B

A

simply attach directly to the handpiece, approx. 2.50 m distance from the motor noise

B

instead of the floor nozzle on the suction tube, approx. 3.50 m distance from the motor noise

STANDARD – tubes with an outer diameter of 32–38 mm: Connect the ActiVac Active Shedder to the comfort extension and the vacuum cleaner's suction tube. The adjustable, larger end goes onto the vacuum cleaner's suction tube. The opening is infinitely adjustable: hold the hose-side part and turn the collar to the LEFT to LOOSEN and to the RIGHT to TIGHTEN.

Press the suction button (1) lightly in the direction of the arrow, then at the same time release the locking button (2) to the RIGHT; the shedder blade will snap out of the suction nozzle. (For storage, slide the locking button to the LEFT to lock the shedder blade in the suction nozzle.)

Switch on the vacuum cleaner and stroke the shedder lightly through the coat with the lie of the hair (in the direction of growth). With longer coats, brushing beforehand is required. Short hair can simply be treated as it is. During use, the shedder blade quickly fills with the removed hair. For all other surfaces, use the nubbed comb.

When the blade or the nubbed comb no longer picks up any hair (see photos on the other side), push the suction button forward as in (1) and the hair is simply sucked away.

If the hair is not sucked in immediately, simply hold your hand in front of the nozzle and even dense clumps will be sucked in. To avoid this, simply press the suction button more often. Please do not treat WET or grease-soiled coats. Please pre-brush longer coats.

To change the blade or nubbed comb, slide it first to the right (1), then down (2), as shown.

To insert the blade or nubbed comb (also after incorrect use, e.g. if the blade has come loose through forceful use), simply insert it on the right first (1), then slide it up (2) until the blade clicks into place on the left.

Tips & tricks:

  • Switch on the vacuum cleaner at some distance, while the nozzle is still at least 2 metres away from the animal.
  • To get the animal used to the suction noise, first run over the coat with the shedder blade folded in.
  • Alternatively, first use the shedder with the vacuum cleaner switched off, move the nozzle away from the animal, then suck in, etc.
  • Only treat a DRY COAT.
  • NEVER press the suction button while the shedder is in the coat.
  • Only treat injured or sick animals after consulting your vet.
  • Insects (fleas, mites, ticks) and dandruff are simply sucked away.
  • The nubbed comb (for upholstery, carpets, car seats, clothing, etc.) can also be used effectively on the coat of small or sensitive animals.
